Today, I got some amazing wins at Wethersfield. It was a great feeling returning to the city that gifted me my greatest single sales day when it comes to my books. It’s a beautiful town that supported local authors for the second annual Nutmeg Lit Fest Book Walk. While I wasn’t in the most ideal spot, I still made out with some wins at Wethersfield. Today, I sold a total of eleven books. Sure, it was only one-third of the book total I sold last year, with thirty-three, but it’s not about the numbers; it’s about the memories. If I sell one book, it’s a successful day in my opinion, because it’s one more person who will get to see my story. Let me tell you more about this bright summer day in Old Wethersfield.
Back To Back Successful Years
Believe it or not, the first win at Wethersfield was just showing up. A lot of authors squandered this grand opportunity by no-showing. There were many on the waitlist who would’ve loved to be there in their stead. The second win at Wethersfield was meeting some friends in person I had met online, Laura and Devyn, for the first time. Each of them purchased my first book, which brought me great joy. The most interesting part of my day was meeting a reader from last year’s Book Walk who had bought and read my first book; she bought book two today. Also, someone recognized me from the Autism Walk hack in June. I’m glad that I’ve been consistent enough that I’m meeting people who already know me. Thanks again to Wethersfield and Nutmeg Lit Fest for inviting me to the Book Walk.
