The results from the 2026 Literary Global Awards are in! The good news is that my debut novel, Looked Down Upon: The Exiled Kin, was a finalist in two categories. I entered my first novel into two categories, Action & Adventure and Young Adult Fiction, in which I was a finalist in both. This is exciting. While I did not win, I am proud that I was named as one of the finalists. I was worried my book wouldn’t be rated that highly, but this feat reassures me that my books are great and readers are interested in the story. I’m sure hundreds of authors entered, and to be a finalist is a privilege I don’t take for granted.
Can't Win If You Don't Play!
There’s a saying, “It’s an honor just to be nominated.” The same thought process applies in this situation. My book didn’t win either category, but I was a finalist in both categories in the Independent Authors awards. I believe this is impressive, since it was the first novel I wrote, and being placed among other talented authors is a great accomplishment. I want to thank Literaryglobal.com for the opportunity to showcase my book in a friendly contest with my indie author peers. I will be sure to mention that my book was a finalist for an award in the future.
