The Grand Stage is the platform of the arts! Now, you all know by now I’ve been an appreciator of the arts for as long as I could walk. However, I’ve always been a nervous nelly when it comes to performing on the grand stage. You see unlike one of my favorite athletes of all time, Tom Brady I do not have grace under pressure. Quite the opposite, I fold like a lawn chair, or at least I did as a kid. Despite this I did try to partake in theater as a teenager and it was grand. A lot of the pressure was taken off me since I was allowed to have my lines on me and the audience was too big. Now, let me tell you the tale of why this it my topic of the week.
When The LIghts Shine Bright, It's TIme to Perform!
For the first time in seven years, I’ll be on the grand stage! I joined Favarrh Players, which allows for adults on the spectrum to express themselves through acting. This years’ show is “The Lion King’. Which so happens to be one of my favorite Disney movies growing up. For the past five months, we’ve been rehearsing diligently and by the way it was no shoo in for me. Not everyone who auditioned made the cut, which bolstered my confidence. I’ll just be in the ensemble singing background music and dancing, but it’ll be fun to be back on the grand stage, no matter how small the part. Sometimes I paint, sometimes I write, and sometimes I even act. I’m looking forward to the play and I hope any of you who read my blogs can make it to the show next weekend. I’ll break a leg!
