The Sequel to my first novel, Looked Down Upon: The Exiled Kin is currently in the drafting stages of publication. It’ll probably be a over a year before it gets published. I promise though it will be worth the wait. From the beginning stages, I planned on making this a trilogy novel series. However, the sequel is even more challenging than the original. Do you know why reader? Well, because now I established a world, characters, and their relationships. That means I have to keep the plot and characters consistent and not forget any important details.
Sequels Are A risky Investment
The sequel of a form of media is typically not as good as the original, but they’re are a few exceptions. Shrek 2 is one that springs to mind, which I enjoyed a little more than the first film. It just takes more effort and you have to remember everything about your characters. From their appearance to their dynamics. Not to mention creating a new conflict organically. I think a lot sequels suffer from inconsistent storytelling and creating a new enemy that seems too one note. So, I implore that you have patience with the sequel to my book. I want to make sure it can be as compelling as the original. Remember, finish the story and my book is available for sale on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble as well.
