Several months ago, during one of the book events I attended, I learned how to submit my book for an Indie Author award. Curious, I filled out the application at a reputable website called Reader Views. Afterwards, I received an email letting me know that once they read my book, they’ll write me a review. Today, I finally got the review for my first book, Looked Down Upon: The Exiled Kin. Reader Views gave me mostly positive feedback, with some mior suggestions which doesn’t surprise me since that was my debut novel. While, I didn’t receive a five star seal from them, I learned some valuable lessions.
Reviews Give Your Book Views
One of the areas of critique was dialogue. Apparently, it wasn’t always clear which character was speaking, but otherwise, the reviewer seemed to enjoy the read. While I may not be one of the winners of the Reader Views Indie Author literary awards this year, this was about getting word out about my book and seeing what professionals thought about my writing abilities. I am still waiting to hear about the review of my second book. Perhaps that book may receive the Reader Views five-star seal; for context, the first book ranked at four stars. All I can do is learn, continue to hone my craft, and try to win an Indie Author award again in the future.
