Pre-order

Having your book for available for pre-order is a win for all parties involved. For the reader, they get to order it in advance and potentially get a discount on a new product. The author gets the book out early and you can promote the book further to generate more buzz. As for the publisher, they get to make a profit selling your book, unless the author and publisher are the same. Which technically I am both, since I self-published. While It was a difficult path, in just one week my book will be out on shelves. So it was worth it in the end. All of my hard work is paying off at last and I’m ecstatic about the release next week. Let me tell you the struggles of putting my book on pre-order.

Pre-orders build hype in advance!

It's nearly here!

I published through a distributor called Ingramsparks. So they printed and distributed my book to retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Amazon, so I wouldn’t have to publish the book on multiple times and look at many reports when copies sold. So, they listed my hardback available for pre-order on Amazon, but it did not show the cover image. Long story short, it took me two weeks to get the issue resolved. Oh well, it was a teachable moment. Despite the brief setback, I have zero regrets about putting my book on pre-order. I think it will help to elevate the success of my book in the end.
