Happy New Year everybody! Well, technically it’s New Year’s Eve, but my point stands. I hate to sound old, but I can’t wrap my head around the fact it’s going to be 2024 in less than a day. Seems like just yesterday the world was in disarray from the pandemic in 2020. Oh well, time doesn’t stand still, you gotta keep moving with the world. So, now that’s a new year, a lot of people will hit the reset button and claim to do all these ambitious goals. Sadly, most of them will flounder and start giving up. Eventually, they’ll go right back to where they were in December. In January the gyms will be packed and full of new faces. Only by March, there won’t be a lot of newbies remaining. I don’t say this because I want them to fail, it’s just a reality of human psychology and habits.
A New Me doesn't need A New Year
As for me I had a pretty phenomenal year. (Not to toot my own horn). Could I have accomplished more? Absolutely. I went to New Orleans for the first time, got CPR certified, read a lot more books this year than ever before, and last but certainly not least I finally published my first novel. Which is among my proudest feats in my young life on earth. However I can’t remain complacent and must keep holding myself accountable. I hate to sound basic, but I’d to lose some weight this year. That’s one of my New Year’s resolutions and to also publish my sequel to Looked Down Upon: The Exiled Kin. I think the trick to completing your New Year goals is to treat it like just another day. Truth is you’ll fall and think you’ve failed and think what’s the point of going on? Change your mindset and get and go again. It’s not about how many times you fall, it’s how many times are you willing to get back up. Happy New Year everyone, I hope you set out and reach your full potential.
