Apologies for the lack of blog post last weekend. I was occupied with climbing the mountain top. I mean that both literally and figuratively. Enough playing coy though, I spent a long weekend up in the beautiful state of Vermont with friends. There, we hiked Mount. Mansfield, the tallest peak in the state. Now, I had prior experience hiking trails, but nothing like this. However, I dug deep into my mental fortitude and soon enough I reached the summit. Took blood, sweat, and maybe a few tears, but I arrived at the mountain top.
It's About The Journey
It was exhilarating hiking up a mountain, especially when you spent a lot of you childhood being reminded of your limitations because of your disability. Reaching the Mountain top, came at a price. I slipped, I got dirty, and rocks were slippery due tor rain. However, I was reminded of the stories my parents told me about reaching heights you’d imagine only in your wildest dreams. As proud as I am for climbing this mountain top, I have metaphorical summits I’d like to reach for too. Whether it’s life goals, work ambitions, or learning subtle social queues, there’s always a mountain out there to climb.
