The Marketing Bug has bitten me just like it does with every modern writer. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, let me tell you something. There’s three major processes of publishing a book are writing, publishing, and marketing. They are all equally brutal and time consuming, but also important to your book. The marketing bug usually only comes out during the final stages of publication. Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of marketing since it makes me feel like a snake oil salesman trying to sell you something. It must be done though, otherwise no one outside of your immediate family and close friends will know about your book release. I’ll give you a few strategies for marketing below.
The Marketing bug bites us all
The Marketing Bug gives you many tools at its your disposal. To market your book, you to have create buzz and exciting for it. I recommend doing a public announcement once the publishing process its done. Do not announce a release date unless you absolutely certain. You should do a cover reveal with little teasers in between to turn heads. Also, Giveaways are always a viable option. Making a book trailer can generate a positive response and get people talking. One brilliant strategy to expand your audience is offering exclusive access to the first chapter of your book if they subscribe to your newsletter. The marketing bug is a blessing and a curse, but there’s no avoiding it if you seek to publish in this day and age.
