Holiday Book Blowout

Yesterday, I attended the Holiday Book Blowout, hosted by CT Book Festivals! I dressed up in a festive, ugly sweater and stayed warm under my blanket. I hoped for a Christmas miracle and that I would sell a lot of books. The bad news is that I didn’t sell a large number of books, but the good news is that I still managed to sell three of my novels. So, with that being said, the Holiday Book Blowout was a minor success in my opinion. I’ve learned this year that every author event isn’t going to yield double-digit sales. The best part about the Holiday Book Blowout was my girlfriend coming in support and having her bookmarks that she made at my booth, too.

I’ve been to a few events with CT Book Festivals now, so I recognized some familiar faces at the Holiday Book Blowout. The most surprising face was Jed Doherty, who had me as a guest on his podcast not too long ago. It’s really a small world. Again, even though I didn’t have many sales, several more people heard my pitch, took bookmarks, and asked if my book was online. Of course, I did some networking when it was quiet. The Holiday Book Blowout was my last book sale event in 2025. It’s been a crazy year, which I’ll go more into dept in the next blog post. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everyone!
